WEEK 19: The rain came. Hello & good morning gardeners. Yes, the rain came for us on Saturday, in more ways than just meteorological. The ‘actual’ rain was welcome indeed, giving garden borders a much need moisten with more forecast for later this week. It was not realistically enough though to offer much of a reprieve from watering freshly planted additions to the gardens, so it is still best to monitor moisture levels. The ‘other’ rain that arrived came in the form of fresh osteospermum (a.k.a. “Rain Daisies”) along with dahliettes, packs of cutting raised #geraniums in bloom, lavender “Hidcote” & New Guinea Bussy Lizzies. All helping to compliment our existing stock. Number 1 greenhouse, which is our vegetable, herb & seed emporium, is brimming with stock. Despite our pack grown veg’ now almost at an end, we have plenty of pot grown varieties such as tomatoes, courgette, cucumber & peppers etc to choose from. Also, from today, we are starting our range of grafted tomatoes. These are £2.99 each but include some fantastic, different varieties, all benefiting from improved disease & weather tolerance & higher productivity than seed raised. That is all for this update. More posts coming later today. We hope that the unexpected lull in wet weather on Sunday enabled you to enjoy GardenDayUk & feel the benefit of being outdoors with plants & hopefully friends too. Happy Gardening Everyone. 10/05/21

Not many Garden Centres can boast over ninety years of history, and yes, we have seen many changes over that period. Indeed change will continue as we strive always to supply the best in plants and facilities. One thing, however, will never change:
The core philosophy first introduced by Archibald John Mills way back in 1928 remains - the philosophy that built the company’s reputation, sustains it now, and will guide it in the future:
The best way to keep gardeners happy is to offer them plants of the highest quality, sold at reasonable prices.Read more
